Abstract

The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) affects the immune system, weakening the defense mechanism of pregnant women. The overall objective is to analyze, according to the state of the art, the risk of mother-to-child transmission in pregnant women living with HIV, through systematic review. HIV attacks the body's immune system and spreads through infected bodily fluids, such as blood, semen, labor, and breast milk.
