This project proposes an intervention from the social sciences and sustainable development to address post-disaster recovery processes in Acapulco, viewing disasters as social constructs that affect communities in differentiated ways. It takes the Friki community (historically overlooked within institutional frameworks) as a case study, aiming to explore its forms of resilience, organization, and symbolic expression in the face of climate change impacts. A strategy is outlined that articulates anthropology, sustainability, and an environmental focus, recognizing the invisible impact of disasters, particularly on mental health and the sense of belonging. The methodology is rooted in participatory action research (PAR), utilizing interviews and collaborative workshops, and integrating digital tools to document and disseminate the experiences of this community. The proposal seeks to leverage technological platforms and narrative expression as means of symbolic reconstruction, encouraging participation through the community's own visual and verbal forms of expression. The goal is to generate an intervention strategy with a glocal approach, one that acknowledges urban cultural diversity and promotes alternative models of recovery. In short, this proposal challenges traditional approaches by integrating community and subcultural knowledge into risk management and social reconstruction efforts.
