Guerrero: municipios y parlamento. Impacto de la nueva legislación electoral en la equidad de género.

Abstract

This article examines the progress of women in political representa tion, particularly their access to the legislature and the local municipal elections on 2008. In this elections women took part in a new regulatory framework that established equal op portunities for the positions of rela tive majority and parity in proportio nal representation. This essay shows the low impact of legal reforms on election results and the degree of observance and attitude of political elites in favor.
