Abstract

Environmental education in Mexico is mainly formal, exclusive for those who attend school. However, the rational use of natural resources and the environment's protection are everybody's responsibility. Therefore, if the family's behaviors are to be environmental, all its members must have environmental culture. To re-educate parents in this field, the non-formal environmental-education program "Environmental culture for the family" was implemented in three schools. Mixed methods with quantitative and qualitative approaches were used.
