In recent years there has been an increase in the prevalence of Helicobacter pylori infection in different regions, mainly associated with the increase in strains resistant to different antibiotics. The most important drug in eradication therapy is clarithromycin and the most studied resistance mechanism is the presence of point mutations in the 23S rRNA gene, however, the possible involvement of efflux pumps in the extrusion of effusion has recently emerged.
